Camera Gear for Travel Photography

Camera Gear Travel List

Here is a list of whats in Karlie’s camera bag while traveling!

*This list contains affiliate links and you support me by shopping through them. Much love!

Sony A7iii | $1798

The Sony A7iii is my favorite camera. In my camera bag, I actually have two! I love the low light capabilities, the customizable buttons and interface, the Sony color profile, and the lightweight build. I’ve found my Lightroom Presets pretty optimized for other Sony shooters.

FE 35mm f1.4 | $1398

My ride or die lens. Nearly everything you see on my page is shot on this beauty. It’s great for portraits, lightweight, and has an amazing “blurry” background effect with the low F1.4 aperture. Here is a photo shot on this lens!

FE 24-70mm F2.8 | $1598

This is a lens that I love to put on every time I want a little compression to my image. The low aperture still creates the silky background that I love but has more range. Here is a photo shot on this lens!

FE 14mm F1.8 | $1498

This lens is my favorite for capturing interiors and small places. Since it’s such a wide lens, you can have a lot of fun manipulating the distortion and creating more of an editorial feeling to portraits. Here is a photo shot on this lens!

Alix Earle Light | $29

I ordered this on a whim because it was a viral TikTok light and I will NEVER go back to traveling without this little guy. It makes my skin look amazing for little iPhone vlogs. It also is a game changer for foodie videos in restaurants.

Insta360 One RS | $803.00

My 360 Camera of choice is from Insta360! This is their latest camera and the low light is much better than past models. Here is an example of the silly things you can do with an Insta360

DJI Mini 4 Pro | $1159

This little drone has impressed me for so many reasons. It shoots vertically which is a MUST HAVE in my opinion when creating content for social media. It handles the wind really well and is small enough weight class to sneak past most drone restrictions some countries have.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro | $3299

I love the 3 lens option on this drone. It doesn’t get much better if you’re looking for a travel-friendly drone that can provide lens compression.

DJI Osmo Mobile 6 | $149

I use this iPhone gimble all the time! It can track objects - so you can set it up, focus it on you, walk around, and it will swivel around to keep you centered. This is my go-to trick for getting smooth room tours in hotels/villas.

Nomatic Peter McKinnon Camera Pack | $299

35L Camera Backpack | The McKinnon Camera Pack 35L is the perfect bag for every adventure. It allows you to pack camera gear and clothing in the same bag. The removable folding dividers, expansion, and external carry straps allow you to pack it any way you want.

Nomatic Peter McKinnon Cube Bag | $93

The McKinnon Cube Pack 21L is the most functional camera cube ever. The camera cube is customizable and expands to become a go-bag at your destination. This pack is lightweight and when used as a camera cube fits perfectly in the large Camera Pack.

Peak Design Travel Tripod | $454

It’s so important for us to feel comfortable leaving our camera on its tripod while we take self-portraits! This one gives me so much confidence I could leave it anywhere. It’s not bulky and it’s super lightweight so it doens’t make my backpack lopsided when I carry it on trips.

Phone Tripod Mount | $10

$12.95 on Amazon and makes my life so much easier when filming Behind the Scenes.

SAMSUNG T7 Shield 2TB | $169

External hard drive for storing content. I travel with these and have never had one corrupt on me. Stay far away from San Disk hard drives - I’ve had 2 corrupt on me in the past 6 months. LaCie is the next most popular but I found that the performance deteriorates A LOT once its filled up.

VAVA USB C Hub 9-in-1 Adapter | $59.99

I’ve tried a lot of adapters over the years but this one has a micro chip reader for the drone, a SD card reader for my camera, USBs for all those outdated cords, and is generally fast + durable.

Nomatic Peter McKinnon Memory Card Case | $22

The Mckinnon memory card case holds up to 6 SD cards and 2 c-fast cards securely thanks to the magnetic closure. The small zipper pocket allows you to store micro SD cards or other small items.

16-inch Macbook Pro Apple M3 Max | $4599

I went all out with my computer setup since I use it to run my entire life and business. I have a 16-inch Macbook Pro Max M3 with a 68GB Unified Memory and 2 TB upgrade to Storage. This fits in the Nomatic Travel bag I have listed above in a protected felt sleeve.

…and thats it! Happy Shooting.
